LG Leader Guide | Week of 3.16.2025
Hello LG Leaders!
Hope you had a great Spring break! If you missed it on Sunday, Marshall Herndon walked us through Mark 8:27-30 when Peter declares that Jesus is the messiah. He hit on the real cost of what Jesus calls us to if we proclaim him as our Lord and savior…it was convicting and a word we ALL need to hear. Marshall’s wife, Lacey, also shared and it was POWERFUL! Here is the Podcast from Sunday and the discussion guide is posted.
Important Announcements:
Mark & Meghan Miller and their family need our prayers and support! They’ve been experiencing some major health challenges. Their LG has rallied around them but they’ve asked for additional backup! Check your inbox for a meal train link and phone number you can share with your LG so that anyone who feels led can bless them!
New Lifegroup Leader Training - March 29th from 8am to Noon - Our training is coming up soon! New Leaders must register ASAP as we’re arranging for childcare this week. Breakfast will also be provided.
We now have Section Leaders! Check your inboxes for a spreadsheet showing who your section leader is. They’ll be reaching out soon! Here is the initial announcement with the details from a few week ago.
Men’s Night coming up on April 11th from 7:30pm to 10pm. Let the men in your LG know and encourage them to come!
Lifegroup Best Practice of the Week:
Don’t hesitate to shepherd and lead! Guiding your group is always your role, whether you have delegated a portion of LG or not. For example, if the person who’s leading discussion stares blankly at someone after they’ve shared something vulnerable/hard to share, lead out by speaking up and saying “thank you so much for sharing and trusting us with that.” This way you model how to facilitate discussion well AND you value people by not ignoring awkward moments. You can have an encouraging coaching conversation with the person discussion was delegated to afterward. If you want help with a conversation/situation like this, call your section leader or me! We’d love to help!
We are so thankful for the variety of ways that you lead and love our church! Have a question or concern about something? I’m always happy to hear from you.
Grace and peace,
Donny Tapie
